TV channel search
Automatic channel search
1. Open the MAIN MENU. Press the MENU button on the remote control, which is often located close to the arrow buttons in the centre of the remote. If the remote control does not have a MENU button, automatic channel search may be found behind the HOME button (shown as a house icon on some remotes) or the OPTIONS button. Use the arrow buttons to move through the menus and the OK button in the middle of the arrow buttons to make selections.
2. From the main menu, select INSTALLATION. In some cases, channel search can be found by selecting SETTINGS or CHANNEL SETTINGS. CHANNEL SEARCH may also be available directly from the MENU.
3. From the submenu that opens, select AUTOMATIC CHANNEL SEARCH or AUTOMATIC TUNING. The device will automatically search for available channels. This may take several minutes. Do not press any buttons on the remote control during the search. When the search is complete, the receiver may still ask you to confirm and save the search results.
Manual channel search
Manual channel search is the best option when automatic channel search fails, for some reason, to find any channels or some of the channels. In the antenna network, each channel is delivered to the receiver in a multiplex containing several channels. To tune the channels manually, you need to know the frequency channel numbers of the transmitter station you use. You can find the UHF network channel numbers at dev.digita-v2.digita.donbran.co/karttapalvelu. Enter your home address in the search field to get a list of the transmitter stations whose service area you are in. By selecting the desired transmitter station from the Channels drop-down menu, you can see the station’s frequency channels. If the picture quality is still poor after following the steps listed below, it is worth trying the other suggested stations as well.
1. Open the MAIN MENU. Press the MENU button on the remote control, which is often located close to the arrow buttons in the centre of the remote. If the remote control does not have a MENU button, manual channel search may be found behind the HOME button (shown as a house icon on some remotes) or the OPTIONS button.
3. From the submenu that opens, select MANUAL CHANNEL SEARCH, MANUAL TUNING or DIGITAL MANUAL TUNING. Select CHANNEL as the search method and enter the frequency channel number you are searching for in the Channel field. Do this for each multiplex you want to search for. Some receivers will automatically search for the remaining multiplexes after the first selection. When the search is complete, the receiver may still ask you to confirm and save the search results.
NOTE!
The receiver’s user manual provides detailed instructions for channel search and factory reset on your specific receiver. The instructions listed above apply to most receivers. If you are unable to retune the channels, it is advisable to contact an expert, such as the device seller or importer.
Factory reset and channel search
When tuning channels, it is recommended to perform a factory reset. The benefit of this is that no unnecessary old information remains in the device memory during retuning. If the receiver asks for a PIN code, the default is usually 0000 or 1111, and less commonly 1234. On some devices, channel tuning can also be completed without a factory reset. A factory reset does not delete recordings, but timer settings will most likely need to be set again.
The instructions listed below are general in nature. Manufacturer- and model-specific instructions can be found in the receiver’s user manual.
