Towers
Our Towers business enables fast and cost-effective network construction throughout Finland. We lease antenna sites and capacity on our robust masts in as many as 38 locations.
Our site database covers almost all of the base station sites in use in Finland. We also maintain a tenant database when needed.
Why are masts built?
The importance of digital infrastructure has grown in recent years, both in households and in business. Diverse needs — from remote work to modern industrial processes — place new demands on reliable telecommunications connections as traffic volumes grow dramatically.
The 5G network — which enables faster mobile connections and is more energy-efficient than earlier technologies — is expanding rapidly in Finland, and comprehensive 5G coverage has already been achieved in many locations. In places, there is still room to improve the capacity or quality of the 5G network. For this reason, networks are continuously improved through infill construction. New base stations need to be built especially in areas where large numbers of people consume mobile data at the same time.
Digita operates nationwide as a builder of digital infrastructure. Digita is keen to take part in the zoning and land-use planning of residential and business areas, bringing the best expertise to ensure network performance through mast and other base station solutions. Digita also has extensive experience in the design, implementation and operation of wireless networks. In addition to nationwide radio and TV networks, we have designed and built a nationwide IoT network. Digita is also a strong player in 5G construction.
